Black Hills State University Scholarship Due: February 1st
Seniors planning to attend Black Hills State University in the fall.

Society of Manufacturing Engineers Scholarship Due: February 1st
Open to graduating high school seniors planning to enroll in an accredited college or university.
National Wild Turkey Federation - Dr. James Earl Kennamer Scholarship Due: February 1st
Seniors who have a 3.0 or higher unweighted GPA, are current members of the National Wild Turkey Federation and are actively involved in hunting, school, and activities.
Elks Legacy Awards Due: February 3rd
Legacy Awards are $4,000 scholarships available to children and grandchildren of Elks members. Eligibility requirements are outlined below. The Foundation will offer a total of 300 awards in the 2025 contest.
McDonald's Hacer Scholarship Program Due: February 6th
Be a high school senior and carries a minimum GPA of 2.8
Have at least one parent of hispanic heritage.
Day County Conservation Scholarship Due: February 9th
The Day County Conservation District is once again awarding scholarships to high school seniors who reside in Day County. $200 will be awarded to a total of five qualifying applicants. Students must demonstrate an interest in conservation and submit the following:
· Essay of 500 words or less on the topic: “Name a resource concern for Day County and practices you’ve witnessed, participated in, or proposals you may have to help remedy that resource concern.” o Log on to www.sdresourceconcerns.org
o Explore the resource concerns listed there.
o Write essay based on what you learned on website and personal observations.
South Dakota High School Coaches Association Scholarships Due: February 10th
There are 4 scholarship opportunities aimed at senior student athletes from South Dakota.
South Dakota High School Coaches Association Student Trainer/Manager Scholarship Due: February 10th
Open to South Dakota high school seniors who have been a student trainer/manager for one of the school's atheltic teams. Student must plan to go a post-secondary institution in the fall.
Northern Electric Cooperative Scholarship Due: February 10th
If your parents are consumer members of Northern Electric Cooperative, you are eligible to apply for a $1000 and $500 education scholarship offered by the cooperative. Your school counselor has applications or you can go to:
Lake Region/Basin Electric Power Cooperative-Member Cooperative Scholarship: Due: February 14th
This $1,000 is awarded to the dependent children, including adopted or stepchildren, of member-owners of Lake Region Electric Association. The applicant must be a U.S. citizen and must be a student who is enrolled, or is planning to enroll, in a full-time undergraduate course of study at an accredited, two-year or four-year college, university or vocational/technical school.
Scholarship recipients are selected based on academic record, potential to succeed, leadership and participation in school and community activities, honors, work experience, a statement of education and career goals, and an outside appraisal.
Lake Region Electric Duane Snaza Memorial Scholarship Due: February 14th
This $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to one student who is the dependent child, including adopted or stepchild, of member-owners of Lake Region Electric Association. The applicant must be a U.S. citizen and must be a student who is enrolled, or is planning to enroll, in a full-time undergraduate course of study at an accredited, two-year or four-year college, university or vocational/technical school.
SD American Legion Educational Scholarship Due: February 15th
Applicant must be a veteran or children/grandchildren or veterans who are current memembers in the American Legion or are deceased and must be a high school graduate with at least 16 hours of post-secondary credits. A maximum of $2500 will be awarded to any one student so more students can recieve assistance and is based on available funds.
Ty Eschenbaum Foundation Scholarship Due: February 15th
Open to seniors who are cancer survivors. The scholarship was founded to help students who have been diagnosed with youth cancer at any point in their life.

South Dakota Native American students planning to enter the teaching profession.
RAMIA BOERSMA SCHOLARSHIP Due: February 15th
Every year the South Dakota Education Association sponsors scholarships to support high school seniors who wish to pursue a career in education. Both are $750 scholarships which can be renewed for 4 years. Ramia Boersma applicants must be the son/daughter or grandson/granddaughter of an SDEA or SDEA Retired member.
Stratford Community Theatre Scholarship Due: February 16th
The Stratford Community Theatre is pleased to be able to offer another scholarship this year. This scholarship will go to a deserving student who has shown outstanding school and community involvement.
Gordon A. Rich Memorial Foundation Scholarship Due: February 20th
Exceptionally qualified high school students with demonstrated financial need, whose parents or guardians have, or had, a career in the financial service industry.
Yankton College Scholarship Due: February 21st
Students must have a 3.0 or higher GPA; 21 or higher ACT composite score; planning to attend a private post-secondary school.
Evie Kahnke Memorial Scholarship: Due: February 28th
The scholarship is open to South Dakota students who were active in extra curricular activities through all of his/her high school years and plan to pursue a career in the ag industry.
CRITERIA: The recipient must be a well rounded senior athlete advancing his/her academic career with an interest in the ag industry. Recipient should be a role model with outstanding character, integrity, dedication and true faith.
BBB Student of Integrity Scholarship: Due: February 28th
he BBB Student of Integrity Scholarship Program honors students who demonstrate outstanding leadership and integrity. These awards are made possible by the BBB Education Foundation.
BBB Midwest Plains provides three $2,000 scholarships for each of the five regions in its service area: Kansas City & Western Missouri, Kansas Plains, Lincoln & Greater Nebraska, Omaha & Southwest Iowa, and South Dakota.
These scholarships are awarded to students who demonstrate strong character, leadership, and ethical values.
Through these scholarships, BBB Midwest Plains aims to support the next generation of business leaders who will uphold and promote ethical practices in the marketplace.
SAE Freshman Year of College Scholarships Due: February 28th
Through generous contributions from various individuals, corporations, and universities, SAE International is proud to award scholarship money to both undergraduate and graduate engineering students. Funded through the SAE Foundation, these scholarships encourage academic excellence and help students around the world to pursue their passion for engineering.
Hagen-Harvey Scholarship Due: February 28th
The Richard Hagen-Minerva Harvey Memorial state scholarship program is for enrolled members of American Indian tribes. Once approved, recipients will be authorized to receive up to four years of funding, depending on year of attendance. Funds are to be used for students attending a public or non-public accredited university, college, or technical college located in South Dakota.
Big Future Scholarships Due: Febrauary 28th
This is a monthly scholarship open to high school seniors planning to attend a post-secondary institution in Fall 2025.
James Valley Telecommunications/Bob Peterson Memorial Scholarship: Due: February 28th
James Valley Telecommunications will be awarding three $2,000 scholarships in 2025. Please complete this application and essay and return to JVT’s office. Applicant must be a high school senior graduating in the Spring of 2025 and whose parents/legal guardians are members of James Valley Telecommunications. Seniors must be attending an accredited college, university or vocational school in South Dakota in the Fall of 2025. A minimum GPA of 3.0 is required. Immediate family members of James Valley Telecommunications’ directors and employees are not eligible for the JV. The application is attached.
Beauty Changes Lives Cosmotology School Scholarships Due February 28th
Since 2013, the Beauty Changes Lives Foundation has awarded over $3.1 million and over 800 scholarships to students and licensed professinals in: Cosmetology, Barbering, Nail, Makeup, Massage and Esthetics.
Annis Irene Fowler/Kaden Scholarship: Due February 28th
The Annis Irene Fowler/Kaden Scholarship was established in 1989 by the family of Annis Irene Fowler Kaden to recognize and continue Annis’ dedication to education. Born in Grant County, SD to an English immigrant family, Annis Fowler began a teaching career in 1927 that spanned nearly 50 years. She obtained her B.A. from Northern Normal School and eventually specialized in teaching students with various disabilities. The scholarship is open to students wishing to pursue a degree in Elementary Education at Black Hills State University, Dakota State University, Northern State University, South Dakota State University, or University of South Dakota.
The Ardell Bjugstad Scholarship for Native American Students: Due: February 28th
The Ardell Bjugstad Scholarship Program for Native American students was established by the family of Ardell Bjugstad of Rapid City. Bjugstad, who died in 1990, was a range scientist with the U.S. Forest Service for 20 years, an adjunct professor with South Dakota State University, South Dakota School of Mines & Technology and Oglala Lakota College. He was a strong advocate for young American Indians working to educate themselves and he also worked closely with Oglala Lakota College in mentoring Native American students into the U.S. Forest Service.
This scholarship endowment provides support for freshman Native American students who are pursuing studies in agribusiness, agricultural production, agricultural sciences or a natural resources degree at any postsecondary institution. While a student studying Agriculture is preferred, other students will be considered.
Prevention Magazine Scholarship: Due: Accept Applications all year
The high school senior who writes the best essay on preventing abuse or how they have dealt with these topics in their own words. The scholarship helps the winner fund the purchase of school books when they begin college the following fall.
We award two scholarships per school year and are accepting essays all year, one is given out in the Fall/Winter and one before graduation in the Spring. (There is NO deadline as long as they are a senior.)
